Whitelines is incredible stuff. These notebooks have gotten me through the last year of college, and two years of work and going. The A4 is slightly bulky, yes, but I'm already carrying a laptop around and so the incremental bother of the larger pad is worth it to me.Sketches, diagrams, and notes can all coexist on the same page. The lines are there when you need them and invisible when you don't. The only complaint I have with this product is the lack of perforations. It's still the best notepad I've ever used. The paper feel is nice, too- fairly heavy, and smooth without being shiny. A bit too absorbent for fountain pens, but these notepads combined with my Muji pens are one hell of a note-taking team. Yes, they are expensive. But good tools make all the difference. Kick ass, and take notes. Your GPA (and/or your manager) will thank you.

Whitelines makes the claim that their paper is better to read/write on than normal dark-lined paper. It sounded good when I first picked one of these up in my campus bookstore, but I bought it guiltily, thinking that perhaps I was being taken in by a gimmick. But this simple idea IS worth the money, and I'm now very pleased with my purchase.
I love graph paper for use in lab notebooks because it makes me keep everything neater-looking, but I've never been willing to switch over to it for any other writing because the lines are so distracting. Not anymore. The lines are there when I need them, but the rest of the time they are entirely unobtrusive. I love it.
The way I see it, my lab notebook is precious and something I spend a LOT of time with, and making it a bit more pleasurable to read/write in is worth a few extra dollars. I still have about half the book left, but I'm already trying to decide between the durability and permanence of a bound hardback (downsideless flexible and therefore harder to flip through, can't bend back the cover), the convenience of a binder full of pages (downside the temptation to take papers out and potentially forget to put them back), or the compromise of another one of these notebooks. But whatever I choose, I will be sticking with Whitelines.
This was a very nice notebook, I remembered it made of good paper and an elegant black color. Resistant and elegant
Covers are thick oversized cardboard and wire binding is also quite large. Not bad for keeping on a desk or bookcase, but a bit bulky to carry around. Love the whitelines paper though!
OK, so first off… this is a notebook so before anyone tries to sell you some romanticized, whimsical, grammatically seductive non-sense, keep in mind that it is paper bound together with spiral rings. Taa daaa! With that being said, I love the style this notebook conveys. The grid lines on the pages are not in the way and when I am done taking notes, my note page looks like I freelance as an architect, designer, or some kind of trendy author! It allows me to write things but still be aligned which is incredibly important to neat-freaks like me. The paper quality is pretty good and the pages can be torn out cleanly without the frayed edge from the spiral binding. I thought the price was a bit high but I soon realized it was worth the price and uniquely difficult to find. The notebook can be opened 180 degrees (like a book) or 360 degrees (with the front cover on the bottom) and lay flat on the table. I have yet to receive any compliments on it but my classmates could just be snobs! I love it.
